Second Shift Studio Space of Saint Paul is a nonprofit residency program, art space, and artist-led effort to provide better resources to working artists and build communities of arts appreciators.
Specifically, Second Shift works to serve women, gender-nonconforming individuals, and others who are marginalized as a result of their gender identity through our year-long studio residency program.
It is more important than ever to quell the storms in our world by creating ways for people to see and interact with the world using a wider scope. Creatives help to make the lens wider. Through movement, sound, and visual interaction, people utilize their senses and can see the world differently and more holistically. When given the opportunity to experience something new, our minds expand. Second Shift Studio Space of Saint Paul was created to foster expansion of ideas by supporting creatives. We truly believe that people are better when they can create or experience the creative process through others.
