KIMCHI MAKING WORKSHOP
This workshop was an extension of the exhibition, Sonmat (손맛), curated by Dahn Gim. As the term 손맛 suggests, the Second Shift community was introduced to works by participating artists in the show, and each piece prompts reflection on care—specifically, in the role of caregiver and care receiver. This resonates with the idea that fermentation is an intentional act of care, connecting the art of kimchi-making to a broader exploration of nurturing and preserving traditions. At the end of the workshop, participates shared and tasted kimchi with Korean pancakes and a hot bowl of rice.
