Grant Hart Collage Second Shift Fundraiser
Grant Hart (1961–2017) is widely known as a pioneering and influential musician, but that framing flattens the full scope of his practice. A lifelong resident of Saint Paul, he was best known as the co-founder, co-songwriter, and drummer for the influential hardcore punk and alternative rock band Hüsker Dü, which achieved international recognition in the 1980s. In parallel with his music, Hart was a prolific and gifted visual artist.
Collage was not a side project or something he dabbled in. It was a sustained, rigorous commitment that ran alongside his music for years. From the archive, we organized nearly 400 individual collages, pointing to an artist who returned to the form again and again, not out of habit, but out of necessity.
Shipping & Handling
Each collage will be individually packed and shipped with care from Second Shift Studio Space after May 1. A flat $20 shipping and 5% handling fee allows us to manage a wide range of sizes and destinations while keeping checkout simple. Collages are carefully packaged to maintain their structure during shipping. An unwoven collage due to handling is not considered damage. If a work arrives physically damaged in transit or there is an issue with your order, please contact us and we will make it right.
Local pickup is available. Orders can be picked up May 2 & 3, 12-4 pm. Local pickup includes a 5% processing fee.
All sales are final.
Each collage is a unique, handwoven work, and proceeds directly support Second Shift Studio Space and the Con d’or Grant Hart Artist Fund.
Please note: these collages are constructed through a woven process and are loosely mounted on paper. They are delicate and should be handled with care. Improper handling may cause elements to come unwoven. Use extra care when removing the work from its protective plastic sleeve.
