Procession is a solo exhibition of work by Meher Khan.
Reception: October 28, 6-8 pm
Gallery hours: October 25, 31, November 1, 7, & 8, 12-4 pm
This body of work is named for the song "Procession" from New Order's 1981 album, "Movement," and similarly, references the ritual surrounding moments of grief. Every piece in Procession began in the weeks leading up to and following the passing of Khan’s father in late August, 2026, after a prolonged illness. His death closely followed the loss of her last remaining grandparent, her aunt, and the collective trauma of multiple communities during the federal occupation in the Twin Cities in early 2026. Through textile, embroidery, beadwork, and family photographs, she processes her grief, as well as the communal support that held her during this time.
